The company “International Living” creates a “Global Retirement Index” every year and in its 2023 edition evaluates the experiences of recent years by selecting the best countries for retirement. The latest results show countries where older people can enjoy a calmer and more comfortable retirement life with fewer investments and other benefits.
The ranking of the most recommended countries for retirement is dominated by Southern Europe and Latin America. For the final selection, the index rated states based on the following broad categories: property value, ease of buying or renting housing, cost of living, government stability, climate and health.
