Voloteaspecialist in European regional capitalspresented his summary of the year and his new in 2024 to theLille-Lesquin airport.
Since 2012, when it arrived at Lille airport, Volotea has transported nearly 2 million passengers. This year was notably marked by significant growth in Lille with nearly 600,000 seats offered (i.e. + 29% vs. 2022) of which 37% are dedicated to island destinations. With an average occupancy rate of 94% over the last five years, the airline once again demonstrates the confidence of passengers in its services and the relevance of its routes open in the territory. The 2023 summer season was also just as successful with nearly 260,000 seats and an average occupancy rate of 95% on the more than 1,700 flights operated.
The Spanish airline, which celebrated the first anniversary of its Lille base this year last April, plans to expand its offer by almost 10% to reach 630,000 seats offered in 2024. To support its growth in Lille-Lesquin, it relies in particular on two Airbus A319 aircraft, suitable for short and medium hauls.
After connecting Lille with around ten French and European regional capitals, Volotea will continue to play a central role next year with a total of 29 destinations (23 exclusively) in eight countries (France, Spain, Italy, Greece, Bulgaria, Croatia, Morocco, Portugal) from and to Lille-Lesquin.
In 2024, Volotea will offer three new routes to Greece :
-Lille-Kalamata: Travelers will be able to discover this city located between land and sea in the south of the Peloponnese through 10,000 seats available once a week (Wednesdays), from April.
-Lille-Rhodes: Lille residents will be able to escape to Rhodes, the historic Greek city once home to one of the seven wonders of the world. More than 9,500 seats will be offered with one frequency per week (Sundays) from April.
-Lille-Corfu also promises an unforgettable getaway with one flight per week (Sundays) and with 9,200 seats available in April 2024.
