The airline company low cost Volotea will launch this winter a new link between Bordeaux And Romeand will restart the one destined for Naplesfor a total offer of 28 routes.
From November 9, 2023 to March 17, 2024, the Spanish specialist in low-cost flights will offer two flights per week between its base in Bordeaux-Merignac and that of the airport of Rome-Fiumicino Leonardo da Vinci, operated in Airbus single-aisle aircraft. Departures are scheduled for Thursday at 5.40pm (arrival at 7.45pm) and Sunday at 6.40pm (arrival at 8.45pm), with return flights leaving the Italian capital Thursday at 8.20pm (arrival at 10.25pm) and Sunday at 9.20pm (arrival at 11.25pm).
Volotea will be without competition on this route where the offer reaches 13,000 seats, while it will face Ryanair on the one linking Bordeaux to Naples-Capodichino : already offered between 2014 and 2019, this line will be back from December 20, 2023 to January 7, 2024, with rotations Wednesday at 7:10 p.m. (arrival at 9:25 p.m.) and Sunday at 3:15 p.m. (arrival at 5:30 p.m.) for a total of around 2000 places .
The low cost already offers flights to Mérignac to Florence, Olbia and Venice, as well as to seven cities in France, five in Spain, four in Greece, three in Germany, two in Algeria and two in Croatia (28 destinations in total). .
With these new features, Volotea – which transported more than 4 million passengers from Bordeaux Airport between 2012 and May 2023 – “gives a significant boost to the connections available in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region”.
