Virgin Australia offered to someone 150 passengers on board a flight from Melbourne to Hobart a free cruise of Virgin Travel to celebrate the cruise line’s arrival in Australia next month.
It was the founder of the Virgin group himself, Richard Branson, who announced the pleasant surprise to the lucky passengers via a video broadcast on the plane’s entertainment system. Everyone is therefore offered a free cruise worth AU$7,000. The flight was chosen to represent the same route that Virgin Voyages’ Australian ship will take on its inaugural cruise, departing its home port of Melbourne on December 11, 2023, bound for Hobart, capital of Tasmania.
Richard Branson also surprised the flight’s cabin crew, ground staff, baggage handlers and pilots with a free cruise. “ Virgin Australia’s foundations were about keeping fairness in the air and we are proud to bring that same mantra to the sea with Virgin Voyages. We want to give Australians the opportunity to have an affordable, stress-free holiday, where they can take a well-deserved break, have fun and get a dose of marine vitamins “, said the British billionaire in his video.
