US authorities today announced the launch of a new application that allows citizens of 40 countries to apply for an ESTA via smartphone. The application has been published, as reported in a communication from Visit USA, in 24 languages.

The official Esta website still remains active, which until yesterday was the only way to request the document.
Through the app, you will be able to initiate an ESTA application, scan an image of your passport and have it confirmed, upload a live selfie video to confirm your identity, add personal and travel details, answer eligibility questions and finally send the request. But it will also be possible to make changes or updates to your profile and receive notifications about the status of the application.
