Turkish Airlines announced the results of passenger and cargo traffic for July 2023. The Turkish company will have transported 8.6 million passengers, an increase of 9% compared to the same period a year earlier.

These are parameters to take into account: Turkish Airlines announces an occupancy rate of 94.2% on its domestic routes and 84.8% on its international connections. The number of international passengers carried increased by 11.6%, rising from 2.4 million in 2022 to 2.7 million during this period. Available seat-kilometres (ASK), increased by 6.7% to 21.9 billion during the period of July 2023 against 20.5 billion for the same period of 2022. As for the freight/mail transported during the period of July 2023, it decreased by 2.4% to 142,500 tons against 146,000 tons during the same period of 2022.

Since the beginning of 2023, the recovery in passenger demand has been felt in its results. Thus, the total number of passengers since the beginning of January 2023 increased by 22% to 47.3 million compared to the same period of 2022. Even more glaring, the number of passengers international transported increased by 36% to reach 16.7 million, compared to 12.3 million during the same period of 2022. What justifies his research on a mega order which would amount to some 600 planes (about 400 Airbus A320neo and Boeing 737 MAX narrow-body planes, and about 200 Airbus A350 and Boeing 787 and 777-9 jumbo jets), the announcement of which is still pending.
