Hop! Air France Receives Its First ATR 72-600

Air France’s regional subsidiary Hop! has taken delivery of the first of five new ATR 72-600 turboprops it has agreed to lease from Danish lessor Nordic Aviation Capital.

Two days after it announced it had agreed to lease up to 35 new ATR 72-600 turboprops to Garuda Indonesia, Nordic Aviation Capital has ordered 15 more ATR turboprops and optioned another 25. The new deal has increased the lessor’s total commitments for new ATR aircraft in recent months to 130 aircraft.

Garuda’s 12 leased CRJ1000 NextGens, plus six ordered directly from Bombardier in February, will result in the airline operating a fleet of 18 of the jets. Should the airline also convert the 18 options it has taken with Bombardier, its fleet of CRJ1000 NextGens would increase to 36.

Garuda Indonesia was confirmed at the Singapore Airshow on February 15 as the unidentified customer which ordered six Bombardier CRJ1000 NextGen regional jets and placed 18 options in a deal announced on February 10. Garuda also said it would acquire up to 12 more CRJ1000s from a third party.
