Azerbaijan-based cargo carrier Silk Way West Airlines and Boeing have announced that the two companies are finalizing terms and working toward a purchase agreement to be placed by Silk Way West for three Boeing 747-8 Freighters.

Silk Way Airlines, a cargo carrier based in Baku in Azerbaijan, has announced an order for two Boeing 747-8 Freighters. Boeing values the airline’s order for the two widebody freighters at $704 million at current list prices.

Azerbaijan Airlines Receives the First of Six Embraer E-Jets

The carrier will deploy four Embraer 190 jets on its international network from Baku’s Heydar Aliyev International Airport. The three remaining aircraft are scheduled for delivery by the end of the year. Two 76-seat Embraer 170s purchased from ECC Leasing will also join the fleet later this year.
