The United States once again almost paralyzed its administration due to lack of funding. This situation would have put civil servants on technical unemployment and cut food aid to certain beneficiaries. Hundreds of thousands of state employees therefore held their breath as the deadline approached. Some were concerned about the closure of national parks.
A vote this Saturday to avoid the shutdown
Just three hours before the “shutdown”, the American Congress has provided that the American administration can continue to be financed for 45 days. However, it excludes aid to Ukraine at war, as requested by the White House. The Senate then obtained a very large majority of 88 yes, against 9 no.
This is not the first time that Republicans and Democrats have clashed on this point!
