The XRISM mission, a collaboration between JAXA and NASA with significant participation from ESA, is ready for launch on August 26, 2023. The goal is to observe the most energetic objects and events in the universe. This is to reveal the evolution of the universe and the structure of space-time. In return for providing equipment and scientific support, ESA will be entitled to 8% of XRISM’s available observing time.
