Last Friday August 11, the “Minion Land” was officially inaugurated on Illumination Ave. from Universal Orlando Resort, Florida. So visitors of all ages can now enter the world of the Minions franchise like never before at Universal Studios.
The Minions, who are among the most popular heroes in the world, have French origins. These adorable creatures, voiced by director Pierre Coffin, were imagined by designer Éric Guillon, who has since become the animation studio’s flagship artistic director. Illumination.
What’s in the Universal Park
A fun marquee with 22 Minions welcomes you, before venturing into all the mayhem that awaits them on Illumination Ave., including the new attraction Illumination’s Villain-Con Minion Blastimmersive space based on interactive play and an original story to create a one-of-a-kind attraction.
Here everyone can test their “story villain” skills to see if they have what it takes to team up with the Vicious 6a renowned group of supervillains from the hit movie Minions 2: Once Upon a Time Gru.
Because the Minions are witty and funny, but we must not forget their true function. They are here to serve the cruelest and most cunning villain in the world: Gru.
In addition to discovering murals and taking photos with characters from the movies Illumination Across Minion Land, visitors can also meet, greet, and interact with characters like the Minions Gru, Margo, Edith, and Agnes.

On-site catering
To the new Illumination’s Minion Cafethere is a new immersive restaurant that offers something for every palate in a dining experience with three themed areas inspired by Kevin, Stuart, Bob and Otto: the kitchen, the rest room and the dining room.
Bake my day is a whimsical shop and bakery offering a selection of Minions-themed confections including cupcakes, macaroons, s’mores and more, as well as exclusive merchandise such as clothing, stuffed animals, glasses, accessories and key rings. Finally, Pop-A-Nana is a kiosk offering sweet and savory popcorn, including a banana-flavored special, inspired by the Minions’ love of this fruit.
