The 29th International Mediterranean Tourism Market (IMTM) was held recently in Tel Aviv. It is considered one of the largest annual international professional tourism fairs. This year, the IMTM welcomed more than 25,000 visitors and 1,760 exhibitors from 52 countries.
A small group of French professionals came to Israel for the first time
Accompanied by the Director of OT Israel in France, Laureline Morel, the French delegation included a dozen product managers, including Cercle des Vacances, Marco Vasco, Maison des Voyages, Parfum du Monde, Travel Corner, etc.
Israel plans an advertising campaign on TV channels in France
From February 27, an advertising campaign already online will also be broadcast on several TV channels until March 19 with several 30s spots featuring Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.
”ISRAEL, Like Nowhere Else” will thus be visible on TF1, FRANCE Télévisions, M6, ARTE and a few digital channels, among others.
The Ministry of Tourism of Israel also welcomed other professionals
The Ministry of Tourism welcomed this week about 160 travel agents from all over the world.
This visit was part of the annual exhibition ‘‘Israel Where Else ? ”, an annual convention organized by the Israeli Ministry of Tourism, alongside the IMTM-Tel-Aviv 2023 (International Mediterranean Tourism Market) fair where they were able to establish more links with local tourism suppliers.
The tourist itineraries offered different themes: Tel-Aviv and Jerusalem; the desert and Eilat-Red Sea; Holy Land and Spirituality; Gastronomic and multicultural tourism.

Some countries were well represented during the IMTM such as Portugal
This year, the VisitPortugal stand occupied an area of 120m2, with the participation of 20 companies and 3 Regional Tourism Promotion Agencies. With this even stronger and more active presence, the objective was above all to facilitate the approach of Portuguese tourism professionals to local economic agents. It should be noted, by the way, that the flow of tourists from the Israeli market to Portugal has increased significantly in recent years. To give you an idea, from 2021 to 2022, the number of overnight stays increased by more than 280% and that of guests by around 321%.

Greece was also well represented
Greece is expected to see an increase in the number of Israeli tourists in the near future. Secretary General of the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO), Dimitris Fragakis, was in Tel Aviv to meet with industry players at the IMTM tourism exhibition. Dimitris Fragakis had meetings with representatives of airlines and tour operators such as Arkia, TUS, Sundor and WTC. During the meetings, Fragakis outlined Greece’s strategic goals for the next period and asked for their help in expanding the presence of Israeli visitors to Greece. In a statement, the GNTO chief noted that: “The Israeli market is extremely important for our country. The year 2022 ended with an overall increase in arrivals from Israel compared to 2019. Especially in Athens, the increase reached 19% compared to 2019.”

Italy, a great destination
Italy is one of the great destinations. Its legendary history, delicious cuisine and incredible culture are famous all over the world. It’s a must – see place for everyone!
But where was France
Unless I’m mistaken, we haven’t seen the Atout France stand this year. If this is confirmed, we will regret it. Fortunately, the Accor group saved the honor!
Really updated information nowadays.. recommend for all tourists. Specially to their lovely places.
Thanks
