Thales: its entertainment system will equip Ethiopian Airlines’ A350-1000 and Emirates’ Boeing 777X

Ethiopian Airlines chose the in-flight entertainment solution BEFORE Up by Thales for its four wide-body aircraft Airbus A350-1000.

With this state-of-the-art IFE (In-Flight Entertainment) system, the Ethiopian airline will introduce a new user interface to enrich the passenger experience, offering several digital services such as interactive maps, shopping and meal and beverage selections , as well as customization features and the ability to sync personal electronic devices with the display

Thales AVANT Up includes new 4K HDR QLED Optiq displays. Two Bluetooth connections and built-in wifi allow passengers to connect multiple devices to the system. The Optiq displays include USB-A and USB-C ports, where passengers benefit from 70 W to charge headphones, phones, tablets or laptops during the flight. Ethiopian Airlines’ first Airbus A350-1000 is due to be delivered by the end of 2024.

Also, the Dubai airline, Emirateswhich has already selected AVANT-Up for its Airbus A350 wide-body aircraft, has just signed with Thales to equip the same on-board entertainment system on its future 90 wide-body aircraft Boeing 777X just ordered at the Dubai Air Show.
