Textron Aviation has announced that its Cessna Citation M2 Gen2 will be equipped with Garmin autothrottles from mid-2025, reducing pilot workload and improving the passenger flight experience.

The Citation M2 Gen2 with Garmin autocontrollers

Textron Aviation announced a few days before the opening of the NBAA convention (which is held in Las Vegas, from October 17 to 19) that its famous Cessna Citation M2 Gen2 will be equipped with the Garmin autothrottle from mid-2025 , thereby reducing pilot workload and improving the flight experience. The Garmin autothrottle system enhances the capabilities of the Citation M2 Gen2 by optimizing turbojet thrust, simplifying flight management and increasing overall operational efficiency. With this advanced technology, pilots can expect smoother and more predictable flight profiles, allowing them to experience even greater control and precision during flight.

A real plus in driving

Fully integrated with the Citation M2 Gen2’s Garmin G3000 avionics system, the Garmin autothrottle system streamlines operations from takeoff to landing by managing aircraft speed, turbojet performance and thrust to enable the aircraft to gain altitude, to lose it or to maintain altitude. It automatically manages engine thrust, optimizing speed and fuel efficiency, and adjusts based on factors such as altitude, speed and aircraft weight. By maintaining precise control over these parameters, it ensures a smoother and more comfortable flight experience for passengers. Additionally, the Garmin system includes features to prevent overtaking and alert drivers of deviations, adding peace of mind.
