Efforts to fight the fires that have ravaged Tenerife in recent days are finally bearing fruit. The firefighters have in fact managed to move the flames away from the border area between the forest around the Teide volcano and the urban area and in the next few hours it will be decided whether or not to allow certain inhabitants of La Esperanza, El Rosario and Arafo to go back home.

According to information from the Regional Council of the Canary Islands, the fire has now affected 13,383 hectares in 12 municipalities.

The access roads to the mountains remain closed, especially those leading to the Teide National Park, from the north and south of the island. The population is also invited to stay away from the fireplaces so as not to interfere with the work of the firefighters.
