The airline company TAP Air Portugalwhose privatization was approved by the Lisbon government, recorded a strong increase in attendance on his transatlantic connections and plans to increase frequencies in 2024.
Since the start of the year, TAP Air Portugal has transported more than a million passengers on its routes to the United States and Canada. This milestone, reached on September 24, 2023, represents an increase of 23% compared to the same period of 2022.
Currently, TAP Air Portugal’s network includes flights from Lisbon and Porto to seven American cities: New York, Newark, Boston, Washington DC, Chicago, San Francisco and Miami. In Canada, TAP Air Portugal serves the cities of Toronto and Montreal.
For 2024, the company will offer its most extensive transatlantic network to date, to and from its North American services, with 91 weekly flights. The cities of Toronto and San Francisco will see an increase in weekly frequencies, from 10 to 13 flights for Toronto and 5 to 6 flights for San Francisco, respectively.
In July 2023, the airline surpassed one million passengers on its Brazilian routes, representing 30% year-on-year growth. Starting in October, the company will increase the frequency of flights to its 11 Brazilian destinations to 81 weekly flights. In 2024, weekly frequencies to Brazil will increase again, reaching 91 weekly flights.
