After Los Angeles last April, the young Taiwanese company Starlux Airlines announced the launch of its second service in North America, with three rotations per week between Taipei and San Francisco from December 16, 2023.

The Taipei-San Francisco transpacific link will be operated in Airbus A350configured in four classes : 4 seats in First class, 26 in Business, 36 in Premium Economy and 240 in Economy. Starlux Airlines has received two of the 18 Airbus A350-900s ordered. She boasts of being a “luxury airline“, offering maximum comfort in flight, as opposed to low cost.

On board its A350-900, the First and Business class seats can convert into a fully lie-flat bed, and are also equipped with a “zero gravity” to provide additional comfort and relaxation. The Premium Economy class seats have been specially designed with a leg rest and footrest bar. To prevent leg numbness in Economy Class, the thickness of each seat has been reduced, and redesigned with a unique S-shape to provide more legroom.

To celebrate the new Taipei-San Francisco route Starlux Airlines has teamed up with Sony: from December 16 to 31, all First Class passengers traveling from Taipei to San Francisco will receive a pair of Sony WH wireless noise-canceling headphones -1000XM5.

Launched in 2020 and based in Taipei, the capital of Taiwan, Starlux Airlines today serves 19 regional destinations in Asia (Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam), as well as Los Angeles and soon San Francisco. Its fleet is made up of three types of new generation Airbus: A321neo, A330neo and A350.
