SMBC Aviation Capital orders 25 Boeing 737 MAX

The aircraft rental company SMBC Aviation Capital ordered 25 single-aisle Boeing 737 MAXa contract worth 3 billion dollars at the American aircraft manufacturer’s list price.

With this latest contract, SMBC Aviation Capital’s order book stands at 81 Boeing 737 MAX. “Our consumers have shown clear, long-term demand for the 737 MAX, and our current orders position SMBC Aviation Capital for future growth.», Underlined Peter Barrett, the director of SMBC, quoted in a joint press release.

Owned by the Japanese consortium Sumitomo Mitsui Finance and Leasing Company, SMBC Aviation Capital is one of the world’s largest leasing companies, with nearly 900 aircraft in its fleet which they rent to airlines. To date, Boeing has received more than 400 orders for its 737 MAX family aircraft in 2023, indicates the American aircraft manufacturer.
