Singapore Airlines continues its strong recovery and increases its capacity

In July, the SIA group, made up of Singapore Airlines and its low-cost subsidiary Scoottransported 3.02 million passengers during the month, i.e. a 45.1% increase compared to the same month of the previous year.

THE fill factor of the SIA Group increased by 2.4 percentage points year-on-year to reach 89.8% in July. In contrast, Singapore Airlines recorded a monthly cargo load factor of just 52.4%, down 8.1 percentage points from a year ago.

For this summer season, Singapore Airlines and Scoot together increased their seat capacity by 28.1% year-on-year. In July, the two airlines served 117 destinations, while the cargo network served 123 destinations.

The Singaporean airline group returned to profit for its fiscal year ending at the end of March 2023, after three loss-making years due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It posted a net profit of 2.157 billion Singapore dollars (1.48 billion euros), ” the highest ever recorded in its 76-year history “, against a loss of 962 million for the previous year. Revenue reached S$17.775 billion, up 133% from the prior year.
