Tourism Seychelles announced the new date of the first international sports competition, the Seychelles Nature Trailscheduled for Saturday, May 13, 2023. The competition was originally announced in May 2020, but was postponed due to pandemic-related health restrictions.

The objective is to attract visitors with particular interests and running and hiking enthusiasts who are also attentive to environmental protection and sustainable development.

With this event, Tourism Seychelles also intends to show that the richness and beauty of the destination are also found in the rocky interior of the island, with thousands of endemic species in terms of flora and fauna.

This is an event in parallel with the Indian Ocean Island Gamesa multi-sport competition that has existed since 1979 where athletes from different islands in the south-west of the Indian Ocean meet and which currently brings together seven delegations: Mauritius, Seychelles, Comoros, Madagascar, Mayotte, Reunion and Maldives.

What is the challenge?

THE Seychelles Nature Trail offers different distances and routes that cross the natural paths and hills of the island of Mahé for a total of 22 km. The race will start from Port Glaud and the runners will cross the hiking routes of Cap Ternay, Anse Major, Mare aux Cochons and Casse Dent to finish in Grand Anse.
