Service contracts for the Leap at the Dubai Airshow

On the occasion of this 2023 Dubai show, the Franco-American engine manufacturer signed service contracts with two airlines, respectively flydubai, an airline based in Dubai, and Air Cairo, a subsidiary of Egyptair.

222 engines and a multi-year contract for flydubai

Dubai-based airline flydubai and CFM International today announced the signing of a multi-year services contract for 222 LEAP-1B engines for the airline’s Boeing 737-8/-9 fleet (in service and command). The contract also covers replacement engines. flydubai currently operates an efficient fleet of 80 Boeing 737s, including 30 next-generation Boeing 737-800s, 47 Boeing 737 MAX 8s and 03 Boeing 737 MAX 9s.

28 engines covered for Air Cairo

For its part, Air Cairo, a subsidiary of Egyptair, and CFM International today signed a non-exclusive multi-year services contract to cover workshop visits for the 28 LEAP engines equipping the 14 Airbus A320neo currently operated by the company. Air Cairo became a CFM customer in 2005, when it first ordered CFM56-5B engines to power 6 A320ceo family aircraft. The company currently operates 8 aircraft of this model.
