Under the terms of the agreement, HAL will produce Leap engine parts for Safran Aircraft Engines at its Bangalore facility to support the Indian government’s Make in India policy and the unprecedented ramp-up of the Leap engine. . Safran aims to develop a complete industrial ecosystem in India. The Group already has three production sites in the country (in Hyderabad and Bangalore) which will be supplemented by a fourth site in Hyderabad in 2025, dedicated to the maintenance of the Leap The helicopter engine maintenance workshop – Helicopter Engine MRO (Aeronautical maintenance and repair) – developed jointly by Safran and HAL in Goa will be the Group’s fifth site in India, and will also be operational in 2025.
