For the first time in its history, the Irish low cost Ryanair transported more than 18 million passengers in one month.
Indeed, it welcomed 18.7 million passengers last month, traffic up 11% compared to July 2022 (16.8 million passengers). Ryanair (including its subsidiaries Buzz, Lauda and Malta Air) operated over 102,000 flights in July 2023, despite canceling over 800 flights due to “ mostly » Italian air traffic control strikes. The average load factor on its Boeing 737s reached 94%, up from July 2022 (87%).
Over the last twelve months in rolling traffic, Ryanair welcomed 175.3 million customers, a total increase of 23% compared to the previous period (142 million). Last week, the Irish low-cost airline, the leading airline in Europe by number of passengers, announced profits of 663 million euros in the first fiscal quarter ending June 30, against 170 million euros in Q1 of the previous year affected by the situation in Ukraine.
