Collins Aerospace, a commercial company of RTX (NYSE: RTX), has completed detailed design review and begun manufacturing a one-megawatt electric generator for the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) in as part of the Advanced Turbine Technologies for Affordable Mission-Capability program. The low-end generator could have multiple applications for future manned and unmanned military platforms.
