Riyadh Air and Atlético de Madrid today signed a multi-year partnership which makes the new Saudi airline the Main Official Airline Sponsor of the red and white spanish football club.

This partnership marks an important milestone for both parties and is the first sports sponsorship signed by Riyadh Air since its official launch on March 12, 2023. In addition to the presence of the Riyadh Air name on the team kits, “this strategic partnership will bring together two entities that share a passion for excellence and innovation and will enable the airline and the club to reach millions of fans worldwide“, can we read in the statement of Riyadh Air.

The new Saudi airline, whose hub is in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, is owned by the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF). It will be operated alongside the Saudi flag carrier Saudia, whose main hub is based in Jeddah.

Riyadh Air is expected to begin operations in 2025 and link the Saudi capital to more than 100 destinations worldwide by 2030. It unveiled its livery at the last Paris Air Show and is said to be in negotiations with Boeing to order 150 single-aisle 787 MAX aircraft.
