This Saturday the 26th at 8:00 p.m. local time will be DJ Alok’s “Show of the Century” at Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro’s world famous beach. An estimated one million people are expected to be greeted with drones, lasers, fireworks and a 360° pyramid-shaped stage.
This free event marks the 100th anniversary of the legendary Copacabana Palace Hotel and the 32nd birthday of DJ Alok, who will host the show from the top of a 30-meter-high pyramid. Throughout the presentation, the DJ intends to present a show that mixes samba and electronic music.
The DJ will be accompanied by drummers from the 12 samba schools of Special Rio Carnival Group, who will perform with him on the stage set up in the sands of Copacabana. Unlike on New Year’s Eve, access to the site will not be completely closed to vehicles.
