A new strike by air traffic controllers is planned against the pension reform this Monday, March 20, 2023, with cancellations of nearly 30% of flights at Orly airport and Marseille. Some companies have already canceled flights until March 23.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGAC) has asked airlines to reduce their flight schedule
A significant reduction in flights has been announced for Monday at Paris-Orly and Marseille-Provence airports due to an interprofessional strike notice.
“The DGAC has asked airlines to reduce their flight schedule by 30% at Paris-Orly airport and by 20% at Marseille-Provence airport,” the DGAC said in a statement. “Despite these preventative measures, disruptions and delays are nonetheless to be expected,” she added.
This decision comes as several trade unions have filed a national interprofessional strike notice in the entire public service and the private sector for March 20 as part of the protest against the pension reform.
The strike could continue until March 23
We have already noticed that some airlines such as Royal Air Maroc or Vueling have already canceled flights on March 22 and 23, 2023.
