Qatar Airways arrives in Lyon

The airline company qatarairways opens this Monday at Doha a new French destination, Lyonsbefore taking off in mid-July to Toulousebringing the number of cities served in France to four.

From July 3, 2023, the Qatari national company offers four flights per week between its base in Doha Hamad International and the airport of Lyon-Saint Exupéry, operated by Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner that can accommodate 22 passengers in Business class and 232 in Economy. Departures are scheduled for Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 8:25 a.m. to arrive at 2:10 p.m., return flights leaving France at 4:35 p.m. to land at 11:35 p.m.

Qatar Airways will be in indirect competition on this route with Emirates from Dubai, and with the low cost Transavia France also to Dubai.

The other French novelty of the alliance company Oneworldbetween Doha and Toulouse-Blagnac (its fourth in France where it already lands in Paris and Nice), will be launched on July 18, will be the first to open a line from the Middle East (and the third to offer intercontinental flights there, after Air Canada and Air Transat from Montreal). The 787-8 flights will take off from Qatar on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 8:25 a.m. to land at 2:40 p.m., and will leave Toulouse at 4:10 p.m. to arrive at 11:35 p.m.

No direct or indirect competition this time for Qatar Airways, which will be the first company to serve Toulouse from the Middle East (and the third to offer intercontinental flights outside the Maghreb, after Air Canada and Air Transat from Montreal).
