Porter Airlines concluded a sale-leaseback agreement with the rental company Avlon For 10 Embraer E195-E2 aircraft.

These aircraft will begin deliveries later in 2023 and will be operated by the Canadian regional airline under a previously announced confirmed order for 50 E195-E2s and 50 more as options. Eleven 132-seat E195-E2 aircraft are currently operating on domestic routes in Canada, connecting the east coast to the west coast.

Porter Airlines this week announced a route connecting Toronto-Pearson to St. John’s International Airport
from September 7, 2023 with a daily rotation in E195-E2, and another connecting Toronto-Pearson to Victoria International Airport, from September 20, 2023 also with a daily rotation in E195-E2. Using Toronto-Persian as a connecting hub, it connects its east coast network (Ottawa, Montreal, etc.) to its new west coast destinations (Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary and Winnipeg). With orders in progress, its North American network is expanding to include destinations in the United States, Mexico and the Caribbean.

The E2 is an incredible addition to Porter’s fleet. It offers best-in-class cost savings per seat and is an ideal aircraft to deliver the truly differentiated inflight passenger experience Porter is known for. To do this, we must treat each customer with care and offer free amenities like Wi-Fi, as well as beer and wine served in glasses throughout the cabin, explains Jeffrey Brown, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Porter. We are pleased to partner with Avolon and leverage their reputation and expertise in aircraft leasing, making them an ideal new partner. »
