Poland’s defense minister approves deal to strengthen the country’s air and missile defense.
On September 5, 2023, Polish Minister of National Defense Mariusz Błaszczak approved a Letter of Acceptance with the US Army to expand Poland’s WISŁA air and missile defense capabilities with the introduction of 12 Low-Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensors (LTAMDS) and the addition of 48 Patriot® launchers. The deal sets the Foreign Military Sale in motion and makes Poland the first international customer to add the advanced LTAMDS 360-degree radar, built by Raytheon, an RTX company, to their air and missile defense architecture.
