Patt & Whitney Canada certifies the PW127XT-L engine for the STOL version of the ATR 42

Pratt & Whitney Canada and ATR have obtained Transport Canada certification for the PW127XT-L engine in the ATR 42-600S program. This engine offers increased performance for short takeoffs and landings, aiming for entry into service in 2025.

During the general assembly of the European Regions Airline Association, Pratt & Whitney Canada and ATR announced that the PW127XT-L engine had been certified by Transport Canada. This is an important step for the ATR 42-600S program, a new version of the Franco-Italian aircraft specifically designed for short runways. This engine variant, developed by Pratt & Whitney Canada, offers improved performance that meets the requirements of the future ATR 42-600S (Short Take-Off and Landing).
