We tried to travel on both HOP Air France and ITA Airways to two Italian cities. We had a few surprises.
ITA Airways on CDG – Rome
To be transparent, we had previously booked a flight on Vueling which was canceled due to the strikes. We therefore chose to leave on a flight from Paris CDG on ITA Airways. It is clear that flights are canceled more easily from Orly than from Paris CDG.
The departure was very early and we had to be at the airport at 4am to take off around 6:05. The flight was almost full with a large group of young students.
Check-in is carried out by ITA staff at CDG terminal 2F. The plane left on time.
The flight attendants were relatively welcoming. The service was limited to a drink and a treat. This is little.

The seat had no charging socket and of course no entertainment. Anyway, at this early hour, we wanted to sleep. Embarkation and disembarkation were carried out via a gangway.
ITA Airways on Rome – Genoa
We also tested a domestic flight. It was a flight operated on an A220. The livery was whitish unlike the blue of the ITA company. And there surprise, the front seat was equipped with a socket to charge the mobile and a space to install your smartphone. Time to skip a downloaded video.

The service was identical to that reserved on the Paris Rome: a drink and a treat. Note that initially, we had to take a bus to reach the aircraft. On arrival we were entitled to a footbridge to access the terminals.
This 45mn domestic flight was better than the international flight!
HOP on Paris CDG and Turin
Departure was from CDG terminal 2G. It is quite a distance from the other terminals. After registering, you arrive in a large space, dark with people. There are enough seats to wait for the flight.

Boarding takes place on the CDG tarmac. It’s not really practical. On the other hand in Turin, we disembark via a footbridge!

The staff is very welcoming. The chair is nice but without any outlet to charge your mobile.

The flight takes place on an Embraer. Surprise, you are served a drink and a small sandwich on a relatively short flight (1h20). It was quite a pleasant flight.
The prices are dissuasive
For the two airlines, one can be outraged by the prices charged. We can understand passengers rushing to a low-cost company like Vueling or Volotea. Even if you add the formula with the registered suitcase, it will cost you 3 times less!

Our opinion
We were disappointed by the service of ITA Airways which wants to impose itself on the French market.
We were surprised by the warm welcome from the Air France – HOP flight attendants. The sandwich was a plus.
