Northrop Grumman Selected to Build Tranche 2-Beta Transport Layer Data Satellites

WASHINGTON – Aug. 21, 2023 – Northrop Grumman has been selected by the Space Development Agency to design and build 36 next-generation data carrier satellites. Their mission will be to improve low Earth orbit warfare communication capabilities.

Northrop Grumman will build 36 satellites for the latest generation of PWSA.

Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) has been selected by the Space Development Agency (SDA) to design and build 36 data carrier satellites, the first spacecraft of the latest generation of its Proliferated Warfighter space architecture in low Earth orbit ( PWSA). The team will update the company’s Tranche 1 design to add new broadcast and tactical communications capabilities to the PWSA.
