The end of summer and the first signs of autumn in Munich are not only synonymous with Oktoberfest, the famous event that brings together hundreds of thousands of people, locals and tourists, under the tents of the Theresienwiese in the middle of drinks and attractions.
In the Bavarian city is currently held the Flower Power Festival which will host nearly 500 events until October 7 that will transform the city into a true floral triumph. Under the motto “Celebrating nature in the city”, more than 200 organizers will get busy and give free rein to their imagination and creativity.

Flowers will be the protagonists of parks, gardens, squares but not only that. Even art will be invaded by the floral ambiance found in small galleries and artistic spaces, through exhibitions, performances, concerts, installations and walks.

The Gasteig HP8, the Kunsthalle München, the Munich-Nymphenburg Botanical Garden – home to 19,600 plant species – and the Bavarian Museum of Natural History are the promoters of the festival. The Gasteig, which is the largest cultural center in Europe, will notably host the Bavarian florist championship entitled “Silver Rose” on September 16 and 17.
Among the events, we note the exhibition Flowers Forever-Flowers in art and cultureat the Kunsthalle München.
