Through US Airways Express franchisee Air Wisconsin, US Airways has begun three-times-daily, year-round service from its transatlantic gateway at Philadelphia International Airport to Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport.

Québec City, which is one of the oldest and most picturesque cities in Canada, is US Airways’ eighth destination in Canada.

US Airways customers and members of the Philadelphia community and surrounding areas continue to benefit from our development of our northeast hub with this new service to beautiful Québec City,” says Suzanne Boda, US Airways’ senior vice president of airport customer service, international and cargo. “Customers traveling from Québec City will now have access to 111 domestic and international destinations through Philadelphia, where US Airways has expanded its service to 456 peak-day departures.”

“We are truly enthusiastic about the arrival of US Airways at our airport. Gaining access to a major hub like Philadelphia is a great addition to the connecting flights offered from Québec City. With this new addition, our passengers now have access to four Star Alliance members, including US Airways,” remarks Gaëtan Gagné, president and CEO of Aéroport de Québec, which operates Jean Lesage International Airport (which has the IATA code YQB).

Privately owned regional carrier Air Wisconsin operates a fleet of 70 Bombardier CRJ200s, each seating 50 passengers. Air Wisconsin operates flights exclusively as a US Airways Express franchisee

The new flights bring the number of international destinations US Airways serves from its hub at Philadelphia International Airport (IATA code PHL) to 36. They include 17 cities in Europe and the Middle East; 14 in Latin America and the Caribbean; and five destinations in Canada. Last month, the airline reinstated seasonal summer service from Philadelphia to Athens, Greece; Glasgow, Scotland; Lisbon, Portugal; and Venice in Italy. Seasonal summer service to Barcelona, Spain, began in March.

Customers can book their Québec City travel through US Airways’ website at www.usairways.com, by calling US Airways reservations at 1-800-428-4322 or through their travel agent. US Airways Express carrier Air Wisconsin is operating the three daily round-trips on the Philadelphia-Québec City route with 50-seat Bombardier CRJ-200 regional jets.

US Airways’ Philadelphia-Québec City schedule calls for flight US4030 to leave PHL at 9:30 a.m. and touch down at YQB at 11:21 a.m. Flight US4034 is timed to depart PHL at 2:49 p.m. and land at YQB at 4:40 p.m. Flight US4046 begins taxiing at PHL at 8:35 p.m. in order to make a 10:28 p.m. arrival at YQB.

In the other direction, flight US4035 departs YQB at 6:25 a.m. and reaches PHL at 8:11 a.m. Flight US4055 leaves YQB at 12:15 p.m. in order to get to PHL at 2:01 p.m. Flight US4077 pushes back from the gate at YQB at 5:30 p.m. and arrives at PHL at 7:16 p.m.

Last year, US Airways began daily, year-round service between Philadelphia and Halifax and added service between its Charlotte, North Carolina hub and Ottawa. In addition to these Canadian cities, US Airways flies year-round to Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Montréal and Toronto.
