This name means “archipelago” in ancient Javanese, and embodies national pride. The city is envisioned as a smart forest city, reflecting Indonesia’s commitment to achieving zero carbon emissions and moving to 100% renewable energy by 2060.

The future capital of Indonesia, scheduled to be inaugurated on August 17, 2024, Indonesia’s Independence Day. Nusantara will replace Jakarta as the national capital, a position the latter city has held since the country’s independence in 1945.

Four Points by Sheraton, Westin Hotels & Resorts, and Tribute Portfolio
As part of the agreement, Marriott is set to introduce three of its brands to Nusantara: Four Points by Sheraton, Westin and Tribute. Each brand promises unique experiences deeply rooted in the authenticity of the destination.
Marriott International, Inc. has signed a major hotel management agreement with renowned Indonesian developer PT. Pakuwon Jati Tbk.
The first establishment, Four Points by Sheraton, is expected to include 300 rooms, an outdoor swimming pool, reception areas filled with natural light and a state-of-the-art gym. The design will blend classic, industrial and modern elements, appealing to the smart, independent traveler.
The Westin de Nusantara will offer 200 rooms and suites, equipped with the brand’s signature Heavenly® bed. The property will house multiple dining options, function spaces, a fitness room, spa and kids’ club, all designed to promote well-being.
Finally, the Tribute portfolio in Nusantara plans to feature 150 rooms and suites, various restaurants and amenities like an outdoor swimming pool, gym and spa. The brand is known for its unique design and commitment to creating vibrant social environments.
