AeroVironment announces that its JUMP 20 VTOL drone successfully completed an autonomous takeoff and landing during the US Navy’s Hybrid Fleet event.

AeroVironment, Inc., a company based in Arlington, Virginia, recently announced that its JUMP 20 VTOL Medium UAS system met the expectations of the US Navy during the “Hybrid Fleet” campaign commanded by the US Naval Forces. SOUTH Command and 4th Fleet (HFCE). The JUMP 20 will ultimately carry out intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and targeting (ISR-T) missions. Although the JUMP 20 has already completed more than 130,000 hours of land flight in support of U.S. Special Operations Command combat deployments, expanding its operations to the maritime environment opens a new market for AeroVironment.
