Mali: the government backtracks on the resumption of Air France flights

Air France has postponed the resumption of its flights to Mali until further notice after the country’s government said today, Wednesday October 11, that it had not yet given authorization for their resumption.

The airline announced yesterday that it would resume flights to and from Mali’s capital Bamako on October 13, after suspending them in August due to regional instability.

But in a turnaround, the Malian Ministry of Transport said in a statement today that it was studying the airline’s request to take over and that flights remained suspended in the meantime.
