Luxair placed a firm order for four regional aircraft Embraer E195-E2while ensuring five other options with the possibility of conversion for E190-E2announced the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer.
The first Embraer E195-E2 is expected to be delivered to the Luxembourg airline in the last quarter of 2025. The planemaker did not provide financial details, but observers estimated the Luxair order at around $340 million excluding options. He also did not specify the cabin configuration on board Luxair planes.
“It’s great to welcome Luxair back to the Embraer family; in the past, Luxair has operated ERJ-145s and Emb-120s. The E2 is perfectly suited to Luxair’s operations and ambitions, closely complementing Luxair’s existing and on-order fleet, ensuring the maximum level of optimization of the airline’s fleet and network over the long term. The particular strength of the E2 is that its new technology, low noise and environmental footprint enable airlines to manage both their growth and sustainability objectives“, commented Martyn Holmes, CCO of Embraer Commercial Aviation.
Based at Luxembourg Airport, Luxair currently operates Boeing 737s and Dash 8 turboprops, and is awaiting six 737 MAX-8s and four 737 MAX-7s ordered from American aircraft manufacturer Boeing.
