Lufthansa will expand its network from Germany to the United States in summer 2024 with three new connections: Frankfurt-Minneapolis, Frankfurt – Raleigh-Durham and Munich-Seattle.
For the next summer season, the German airline will schedule a total of 27 destinations in the United States, significantly more than before the Covid pandemic, and will therefore serve Minneapolis and Raleigh-Durham for the first time.
Departing from Frankfurt
Starting June 4, 2024, Lufthansa Airlines will operate five flights per week throughout the year to Minneapolis, Minnesota. Starting June 6, 2024, Lufthansa will also serve Raleigh-Durham five times a week throughout the year. This will be his second destination in North Carolina after Charlotte.
Furthermore, Hyderabad, India, already served this winter, will continue to be served under the 2024 summer flight program with five weekly flights.
Departing from Munich
From May 30, 2024, Lufthansa will, for example, fly daily for the first time to Seattle, Washington from its Munich hub. This new transatlantic route will complement existing daily flights to Seattle from the Frankfurt hub.
Also, Lufthansa will serve Hong Kong several times a week from Munich. Johannesburg, South Africa, will also be a return destination, whose last regular flight from Munich was in 2005. On June 3, 2024, the German airline will fly three times a week to Johannesburg. Bangalore, India, with flights already offered this winter, will be served until summer 2024 with up to six weekly flights.
New A380 destinations
Lufthansa will double its number of A380 destinations next summer. From Munich, passengers will experience the Airbus A380 on five routes at once: Boston, Los Angeles and New York (JFK) are back; two new capitals will be added for the first time: Washington, DC and Delhi. In total, Lufthansa will park six Airbus A380s in Munich next summer. By 2025, its operational A380 fleet will number eight superjumbos.
