One out of seven first fuselage

Lilium announced that it had reached an important development milestone with the start of assembly of the fuselage of the Lilium Jet, which remains on track for the first manned flight scheduled for the end of 2024. This is the first of seven fuselages of the seven aircraft that Lilium will use to obtain type certification of the Lilium Jet. The fuselage was developed collaboratively and is built by leading aerospace supplier and strategic partner Aciturri at its facility in Valladolid, Spain. The fuselage is expected to be delivered to Lilium’s facility in Wessling, Germany, in the fourth quarter of 2023, ahead of the planned start of assembly of the first Lilium Jet by the end of the year.

A strategic partnership with the Spanish Aciturri

This latest phase of Lilium’s program demonstrates the success of the strategic supplier partnership between Lilium and Aciturri, leveraging Aciturri’s expertise in high-quality aerostructure design and manufacturing. It follows a comprehensive review of the industrial program conducted in late August 2023 during which Lilium and Aciturri executives reviewed and green-lighted initial industrial production components and processes. Aciturri, which is an investor in Lilium, is an established aerospace supplier with nearly 50 years of experience in commercial aircraft programs, including the design and manufacturing of major airframe components for the Airbus A350, A320, A400M, Boeing 787 and Embraer KC390, among others. In addition to supporting the industrialization of the Lilium Jet, Aciturri will continue to support the design optimization and certification of the Lilium Jet in the years to come.
