The Vulcain rocket prepares for its inaugural launch

The new Vulcan rocket from the United Launch Alliance (ULA) is preparing to complete the final stages of its preparation before its maiden launch. The first certification flight (Cert-1) is scheduled for Sunday, December 24 from Space Launch Complex-41 (SLC-41) in Cape Canaveral, Florida. The first Vulcan launcher was scheduled to launch in May, but a propellant tank cracked during testing in March, damaging the test stand.
