The LATAM Airlines group has announced the resumption of daily flights between Santiago (SCL) and Rapa Nui (IPC), Easter Island, after almost four years. This route, which covers more than 3,700 kilometers, will be available seven days a week and will be served by Boeing 787 Dreamliners, with a capacity of approximately 300 passengers per section.
The new flight schedules allow immediate connections to various destinations in Europe, the United States, Mexico and the rest of South America.
Despite the reintroduction of daily flights, the seat supply is still 50% lower than before the pandemic. LATAM previously operated thirteen weekly flights to the Americas from Rapa Nui and a weekly flight to Papeete (PPT), in French Polynesia, which has not resumed.
