Promoting cycling in Gran Canaria
The artist thus appears in a funny video in which he slightly modifies the chorus of his well-known hit with fellow Colombian Shakira, ‘La bicicleta’, to wink at the public bicycle rental system, Sítycleta, very used by tourists visiting the city.
Tourists can discover Las Palmas by bike
Las Palmas de Gran Canaria has a public bicycle service which contributes to the sustainable mobility of the city. The Sítycleta, as it is called, is probably the least polluting and healthiest option among all the means of transport in the city.
In addition, getting around Las Palmas de Gran Canaria by bike is a great way to get to know it first hand and reach almost every corner. For this, Sítycleta has 375 smart bikes, 20 electric bikes, 2 bikes for people with reduced mobility, 40 urban stations and 505 anchor points.

Sitycleta Sin Limits for people with reduced mobility
Sítycleta Sin Límites is a project based on the international Ageless Cycling movement present in more than 2,700 cities around the world with the aim of giving older people the pleasure of cycling.
Thanks to the involvement of the 49 volunteers registered in the program, who drive tricycles specially adapted for people with reduced mobility, users can enjoy a comfortable tricycle ride. But the benefits of these walks go further: they also manage to avoid situations of social isolation, since, in addition to participating in a sustainable and healthy activity, the walks create intergenerational encounters and promote dialogue between users and volunteer people.
