While flight prices are up 28% on average from a year ago, the summer travel season is still in full swing, and travel searches are up around 46% , compared to 2022.

According to the study “World of Opinions 2023” published a few weeks ago, 7 in 10 respondents (69%) say it is increasingly difficult for them to know what opinions to trust when it comes to travel.
“Best Time to Travel” helps travelers make informed, information-based decisions on their own such as:
- the price
- the crowd
- weather
With over 280,000 routes to choose from, this new tool integrates predictive data from billions of travel requests on Kayak to predict future flight and hotel prices. Travelers can then easily compare prices using weather and seasonal information to determine the best time for their next trip.
For example, although it is THE summer destination, the best month to visit Bali – arriving at Denpasar airport – is November, due to lower flight prices, good weather and no crowd.
Data collection methodology
Kayak considered searches for return economy class flights between 1/1/2023 and 31/2023 for travel dates from 5/26/2023 to 5/5/2023. For the year-over-year comparison, the

The survey was conducted in France, Spain, Germany, UK, USA and Australia.
In France, 1,006 respondents aged 18 to 75 and corresponding to the country’s population took part in the survey. Data collection took place May 16-25, 2023 through an online survey conducted by Norstat on behalf of Kayak.
