Jean-Luc Grillet flew away

A few days ago, Françoise Le Glouannichead of sales at Emirates announced the death of our friend Jean Luc Grillet.

Many of us have appreciated Jean Luc’s professionalism for many years. We continued to correspond regularly with this lover of aviation and the Philippines.

We have a thought for his family!

Jean-Luc Grillet

The first to react was Laurent Magnin which we allow ourselves to reproduce his text published in social networks:

“He was for a long time and indisputably the man of Emirates in our country. The one who introduced us to the company. A frank and direct man endowed with a great aeronautical culture. He told us at the end of the 90s with a greedy smile “Emirates will be huge”…

I knew him at Tower Air, an American charter company where he was commercial director. I was the one from Corsair. We lent each other reciprocal…747s when we broke down! I remember him as a man you could count on.

He is one of the people who personified the Gulf airline in France at a time when (as with low-cost airlines) our European majors thought it would never work.

Fly well Jean Luc, you have done a good job.

Laurent Magnin
