iRASSHAi: the Japanese concept store in Paris by Japan Experience

The specialist tour operator team Japan Experience has opened iRASSHAi (“welcome” in Japanese), the new concept store dedicated to the Land of the Rising Sun in the heart of Paris: a refined and Japanese-style living space, a true invitation to travel and discovery. An essential address for lovers of Japan, iRASSHAI offers more than 800m² divided into a large grocery store and various gourmet areas.

FOUR JAPANESE ADDRESSES IN ONE PLACE

iRASSHAI is open from 8 a.m. to midnight, and the 4 tables with distinct identities at the address cater to all epicureans, all the time.

On one side, SHOKUDO, the refined canteen, with an authentic and traditional Japanese menu at lunchtime, and a more izakaya atmosphere which sets in in the evening, based on sharing, with smaller portions.

At -1, in a more intimate setting, it is the BIWAN bistronomic table which invites you on a culinary journey. Executive chef Chihiro Yamazaki, originally from Sapporo (Hokkaido), has created a menu based on the seasons, with a diversity of Japanese culinary specialties from the North to the South of the archipelago.

Finally, a 2-in-1 address throughout the day at iRASSHAI: KISSATEN from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., SAKABA from 6 p.m. to midnight! On the KISSATEN side, Japanese drinks and pastries are in the spotlight. But also original creations: taste matchaffogato, Italian affogoto with a shot of matcha instead of espresso.

After 6 p.m., KISSATEN turns into SAKABA. Sake, whiskey, yuzushu… but also Asahi beer with matcha and cocktails with and without alcohol accompany one of the most complete Japanese cocktail menus in Paris, imagined by MOF bartender Christophe Davoine.

A REFERENCE FOR JAPANESE CUISINE IN PARIS

iRASSHAI opens the doors to Japan through its gastronomy. Through its 2 restaurants, its take-out counter, its café (which transforms into a bar after 6 p.m.), a studio dedicated to cooking classes and the grocery store, the epicenter of the place, iRASSHAi offers an unprecedented immersion in Japanese cuisine.

The grocery area is focused on discovery and simplicity, to help visitors understand and get to grips with Japanese products, which are often complicated to master and cook. On the colorful grocery store shelves, QR codes complete each package of bonito, soba, dashi broth, miso paste and 1000 other references, to allow customers to easily obtain more information on the products, ideas recipes imagined by the executive chef…

In addition, the grocery store is unique in Paris. In fact, three quarters of the products available at iRASSHAI are sold for the first time in France! The selection that you will find on the shelves is the result of two years of research and tastings by a native team and connoisseurs of Japan, and is imported by iRASSHAI directly with a sector and a team on site, in order to offer the best products only.

iRASSHAI is also a bookstore, a Japanese spirits cellar, and a range of tableware accessories.

Online shopping, convenient!

For those who will not have the opportunity to go to Paris, iRASSHai offers 1000 references available in the grocery store and are also accessible online, on the website irasshai.co

And a gift too

To celebrate the start of this new adventure, and to prepare for your next trip to Japan, iRASSHAi and Japan Experience offer you 10% off your first order (and a small gift in the package), until 12/31/23.

Meet at 40 rue du Louvrefrom 8 a.m. until midnight, every day, on site and to take away.
