Hotelbeds expands in North America

The deal allows Hotelbeds to continue growing its U.S. business while opening new markets for Hopper, which is the third largest online travel marketplace in North America and the number one downloaded travel app. Data from the U.S. International Trade Administration indicates that total travel and tourism output was valued at $1.7 trillion in 2021.

“This new partnership will help us further expand our presence in the dynamic US market,” said Carlos Muñoz, Chief Commercial Officer of Hotelbeds.

In the meantime, Hotelbeds remains for sale but not at any price

Hotelbeds is for sale. The company’s main shareholders (Cinven, EQT and Canadian Pension Investment) have for the moment refused purchase offers of less than 5 billion euros.

However, experts in this type of operation do not find it easy to carry out the transaction under these conditions.
