The airline Japan Airlines now offers first class with double beds on its Tokyo-New York routes, replacing the Boeing 777-300 ER with Airbus A350-1000.
Indeed, the Japanese carrier unveiled last Monday the cabin of Airbus’ largest long-haul model on international routes, where all classes will benefit from new seats, with a smaller premium Economy and a Première, an Economy, and a wider Business.
The A350-1000 cabin is designed to immerse passengers in the elegance of Japanese aesthetics and to provide a calm ambiance. At the same time, it should perfectly integrate the aesthetics of the A350-900 and the Boeing 787-9, explains Japan Airlines. Business and First class are particularly impressive, as they offer plenty of privacy and space.
Interestingly, JAL shifts the weights between different classes of the new flagship A350-1000 compared to the older Boeing 777-300 ER, although the total capacity is about the same at 239 to 244 seats . There are now 155 seats in Economy compared to 147 in the old 777, in Premium Economy there are only 24 instead of 40, in Business Class there are 54 instead of 49 and in First there are has six instead of eight.
