Several German airports are again disrupted on Monday by the latest in a series of one-day strikes linked to various wage disputes. The verdi union has called on workers for “warning strikes” at airports in Berlin, Hamburg, Hanover and Bremen. These are mainly ground personnel.

Hundreds of flights canceled from Berlin

Some 200 departures have been canceled in Berlin, and around a third of the 200 scheduled arrivals are expected to be cancelled, German news agency dpa reported. Hamburg Airport said all 123 scheduled departures during the strike were canceled and at least 50 of the 121 scheduled arrivals.

Berlin – Hamburg – Hanover particularly affected this Monday

Some flights arriving in both Berlin and Hamburg will still be able to land, although airport authorities say it depends on the airline, which means some planes land and many other arrivals are cancelled, according to the airline. Travelers are advised to check and see if their flight is still departing to Berlin, Hamburg or Hanover on Monday March 13.
